so... y'all know how i love movies?

I watched 3 of the 4 i rented last night.

First I watched the Kingdom. And i rather liked it. (thanks for the rec phrenitis !)

As soon as i saw Kyle Chandler on my screen, i started chanting, 'please don't die, please don't die, please don't die'. Because really? He ALWAYS dies, and its such a shame because he is really rather pretty.

and then he blew up. again.  (as a side note to me: i should really try and find/watch Early Edition. It might be the only thing he's ever been in where he DOESN'T die in the end. or beginning. or ever.)

And its another movie with Jen Garner and Jason Bateman together! That's so cute! i mean... well... this movie wasn't cute, but still. I guess they either like or don't mind working together.

but yeah. I really enjoyed it. I the scene where they showed the people praying when they got home was really beautiful.

and at the end, i love how it was so... symmetrical. Just another reminder how we're all people.

or something. i dunno. but yeah. it was a good movie. i almost cried at the end. i totally saw it coming though. and that made me sad.

and then i needed to watch something happy, since The Kingdom is kind of the opposite of "light and fluffy", so i watched The Sandlot 2.

oh, thats right. There's a shitty sequel. it was amazing. I rather enjoyed that one too. in a 'omg my brain feels like acid has been poured on it and i'm dying in a painful, yet enjoyable' way. Seriously, it was EXACTLY like the first one. with girls thrown in. and a different name for the dog. and rockets instead of a Babe Ruth baseball.
AMAZING!!

and since i couldn't leave it at that, i watched Holes as well. And that wasn't a bad movie, i have to say. I almost want to read the book, but i'm currently STILL reading The Golden Compass. (Which is pretty good, i must admit!)

But then it was late and it was bed time.

I still have Memoirs of a Geisha to watch though. Maybe on Sunday?

LOL, I'll have to think of a light and fluffy rec to make up for this one. But wasn't that such a beautiful and sad and intense film? Gah, loved it.

Go see Definitely, Maybe in theaters? That looks light and fun. Or ooh, Balls of Fury. *nods* ;)

lol. You don't have to rec a light and fluffy one if you don't want. I'm probably spending way too much money on movies anyway. I think it was my 'comfort food' or whatever. But you're right, it was all of the above! I'm glad i watched it!!

I've already seen Definitely, Maybe. for free! it helps having a friend in the promotions business. bwa.
Balls of Fury, eh? OMG I LOVE Christopher Walken!!! hee!!!
