In Which Cait has a mini-vacation
Sep. 16th, 2007 07:57 pmThat's right, i had a mini vacation on saturday with
aluminiumdonut.
We went shopping in the STATES!!!!
that's right! we went outlet shopping, and it was SO MUCH FUN!!!
We woke up crazy early - i woke up later than i meant to as i was out late the night before - and got coffee at Timmy Ho's, and went on an adventure!!! We had to wait maybe an hour to cross the boarder, but talked about stuff so it wasn't so bad.
US Boarder guy was kind of intimidating and i think i failed his questions (WHERE DO YOU LIVE? WHERE ARE YOU GOING? WHY? WHERE DO YOU WORK? WHAT IS CHAPTERS? ) but he let us go anyway, and then we were in the Americas, with their STATE PARKS and MILES PER HOURS!!!!!
First stop was Bellis Fair and we got there about an hour before the mall actually opened, but Target was open so we went there and scoped it out and made plans to buy HALF the store, cuz its awesome!
When the mall actually opened, we hit up Bath and Body Works cuz there was a lot of stuff i had to buy (i had lists from a couple friends). So i spent much money there, buying almost one of every scent there, plus the stuff i needed to buy for friends. Dianne bought a few things, and then we went to Hot Topic!!!!!!!!!
She bought some work pants and a couple of cool shirts and some other stuff. I bought a corset (which i plan on wearing to work!!) and a tshirt for Dar, a necklace for Susan, a shirt for me, some earrings... i think that's it.
No seriously. In about an hour, i spent $200.
Then we walked around the mall and passed the T Mobile booth a THOUSAND times going around the mall, so the three guys there would sort of recognize us every time we went by. We eventually made our way back to Target where we bought many socks/undies, and food.
Then we went to Red Robins for lunch where i had a BLTA Croissant and Dianne had a raw burger. It wasn't supposed to be raw, so we sent it back and got a cooked one. but we were full half-way through.
We hit up Burlington next as i was trying to find the Sketchers outlet in Tulalip and misinterpreted my sisters directions. Still, Dianne got a new work shirt from Eddie Bauer and I got 2 new ones from Liz Claiborne. aren't we fancy? Then we went to Michaels and she got some fancy drawing paper, some crayons for someone's b-day, and those foamy dinosaurs. You know the ones, that are in pill form, then you put it in warm water and they turn into a spongy dinosaur!!!
Then we went to the outlet mall in Tulalip and it was awesome. I got the shoes i wanted, and Dianne got some shoes, and we went into some bag place and did NOT spend money we didn't have, then we went to Harry & Davids where we spent less money than if we had bought things at the bag place. We took a peek at the Converse store b/c Dianne knew she could look and not buy, then we decided to go home before anything else tempted us.
We went to Burger King by Bellis Fair for dinner, then headed home, as it was 7.30 pm. We got turned around a few times, so we had to back track a little. But it was all good. We got to where we wanted to go. Then we went home. Coming back to Canada was a little bit faster, and a lot less stressful.
The Canadian Boarder Guy was super nice! He totally knew we were lying when we told him that we spent about $250 each. But I think he liked us. He was more, "Hey. Sup." He noticed Dianne's "Vote Petrelli" pin on her jacket. Then he said that we have the same birthday, and he let us go!!!! When we were driving away, i shouted "I LOVE YOU, BOARDER GUY!!!" but not to him. Just out loud as we drove away.
Still. It was an awesome day. Probably one of the best Mini Vacations i've ever had. And I plan to have more, with Dianne, and hopefully other people as well. Oh man, i love work people. For seriously.
I ♥ you, Donut.

Date: 2007-09-17 05:30 am (UTC)HEH. And Red Robin...that's too funny. It's the first place I ate (on Robson) when I was in Vancouver for the con, and I also ate there Saturday, here in Ca. I love the place. I had the bonzai burger. It's the hawaiin teriyaku burger with the pinapple. And I had one of their berry twist limade thingies. Well, ok, I had three. SHHHHHhh. And split a mudd pie with Mr. LilFerret.
