Seriously. It's still the BEST. MOVIE. EVER.

Last night my sister and I went to see the 20th Anniversary Re-Releasing of Dirty Dancing in downtown Vancouver. 

And, like i said before, seriously, its still the best movie ever. There was this almost-interview type thing before the movie started, and there's a stage play Dirty Dancing which i will have to see at some point in my life. 

But yes. There were many people (mostly women, but some men - which is saying how much they love their girlfriend/wife/partner as there was a hockey game on). 

It seemed like everyone was quoting and singing along. Someone quoted Baby's "... and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you." about 2 seconds before she actually said it and we all went wild, cheering and clapping and the like.

Actually, we did a lot of cheering and clapping. When the danced, when certain lines were said. There was major clapping and cheering when Johnny said "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" and again when they did the Lift.

i will love this movie until i die, and even then that probably won't stop me. And it will forever be on my Deserted Island List.  

No, seriously. I grew up with this movie. I know i've owned the VHS since i was about 6 yrs old. I have always and will always love this movie. Out of everyone and everything, Dirty Dancing will be my first and last love, EVER. 

okay, maybe not everyone. But out of all the movies in the entire whatever, DD is #1 in my heart, hands down, no contest, kthnxbai.

Oh, that movie is so much love! I have it on VHS & DVD. When I was a little girl (let's see, the movie was made in 1987, so I was about 6...so within a year or so of that) I got to go to the film location for the cabins & the main dance hall (where the final dance is performed). Very cool! Sadly, most of the cabins had burned down by that point & the next year they closed it down completely. But I got to dance on the bridge (you know the one!) & walk up the hill then into Johnny's cabin). Much fun!

lol. i was 2 when it was made, but my mom let me watch it when i was like... 4 or 6 or some age like that, and i've loved it ever since. I remember getting the vhs for xmas one year, and it was the best present ever. Then... for my... 19th? birthday, my sis got my the dvd. And that was awesome too.

i'm jealous that you got to see the cabins and such. I bet it was so much fun and amazing!! Lucky!!!

ya know, I've never actually seen Dirty Dancing... I've seen Havana Nights, but I've heard it ain't got nothin' on the original. I would say "would you recommend..." but I mean, clearly, the answer would be yes! I'll hafta rent that sometime soon! XDDD it's cool you had such a blast!

okay, what is WITH you ppl and NOT seeing one of the best movies EVAR. I had to watch Havana Nights because it was a Dirty Dancing movie, but it has got NOTHING on the original.

Seriously, if you need to borrow my dvd, i will lend it to you. It's a great movie. that whole, 'coming of age' and such. its awesome. And seriously? Johnny Castle? can dance. and that's just hot.
