so, me & the Sis finished all 3 seasons of Spartacus. Well, we're all caught up on S3 at least.
Its been okay so far. I mean, New Guy isn't bad. He's a little bit... prettier than Andy was, and not as lean, or as cut. His voice isn't as nice. But... well... Andy left big shoes to fill. So this guy? will definitely do in a pinch. But... Andy was awesome, and he will be missed. BUT, good thing is, he won't be forgotten. He is forever immortalized as Spartacus. that's a good thing.
So New Guy? Not bad. I'm not going to give him crap for anything. he's pretty good.
and I can take spartacus & mira or leave them, as a couple. As their own individual people, I think they're pretty freakin awesome.
Crixus and Naevia on the other hand? SO CUTE HOMG. just... like, ok. ok. So, when we were watching S1 - cuz we kinda watched it out of order this time around. We watched it Chronologically rather than by Season - so, when Crixus and Naevia were just starting out, they were the cutest. How he was just... gods, he was SO into her. And when she got the key and was able to open the door so that they could be together? Man, he basically RAN at her like he was so desperate for her. it was amazing. That's what i loved about them - they cherished the moments they had together. And this man, this brute, this Gladiator - a Champion of the Arena - he was just so... loving towards her. Like, all the love he had, he gave to her. Fighting was his LIFE, and he was all, There is no Victory unless you're there to witness it. SO ROMANTIC OMG. - hearts in my eyes.
i just... god, Crixus was kind of an ass, but he's an Honourable one. I loved how he totally saved Spartacus - when they HATED each other - because Sparty was being attacked, and Crixus was saving a brother who bore the mark. He's totally more honourable than Sparty. Well, when it came to being a Gladiator. Because Sparty was more or less forced into being a Gladiator, and he fought against it, while Crixus wanted it, embraced it, became it.
But Sparty has his own reasons. Everything he did was fuelled by love. (well, for the most part. There was that bit where he kind of gave up everything to be the Best Gladiator He Could Be because his One Reason, his EVERYTHING, died in his arms. then he just kind of... gave up living, and became a slave in a real sense of the word. He followed the path that he thought the Gods wanted him to be on. But then he got sick, and had hallucinations/visions, saw his dead wife and his dead best friend {and omg, don't even get me STARTED on Varro. I totes adored him, and i hate HATE that episode where... yeah. I hate it and my sis and i have VOWED to never watch ep 10 AGAIN because its THE WORST OMG. THE WORST EVER. OMG VARRO.} and realized that he had been duped, and was STILL being used and came to his senses.)
anyhoo. holy. But yeah. I hate how Naevia is so... broken now. and whats up with the New Girl? I mean, i liked old!Naevia. But... old!Naevia was strong, and this new!Naevia is broken, and it makes me unhappy to see her, cuz now her and Crixus can't really be together and its THE WORST because omg they're so in love and everything.
But i'm totally loving how Crixus and Sparty are totally beffies now. And its like, hellooooooooo guys, if you had teamed up BEFORE, just THINK of everything you could have accomplished!!! but they're stupid boys with big egos and misunderstandings. But i'm happy they're beffies now. And how Sparty was all, Don't Worry, we won't go ANYWHERE until we find your Woman!! - even though he kind of forced everyone to go along with his decision. Cuz if he hadn't there would only the The Gauls and Sparty to fight. and as kick ass as all the Gauls think they are? They are no Sparty. Or Crixus.
and omg Agron!! Dudes. Dudes, I totally love Agron. and his lil BF. they're SO ADORBS OMG. They're like... the new Barca & Pietros. But i really REALLY hope they have a better ending. (even though i kinda know they won't because this show is HORRIBLE AND WON'T LET ANYONE BE HAPPY EVER. MAYBE FOR LIKE, 2 SECONDS, AND THEN THEY'RE ALL, HAHAHA, SUCKER, TRICKED YOU, YOU CAN'T BE HAPPY, WE'RE GOING TO KILL THIS PERSON NOW, HAHAHAHAHAHA. ITS AWFUL AND I DON'T KNOW WHY I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH BESIDES IT BEING AWESOME AND FULL OF AWESOME CINEMATOGRAPHY AND BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE AND INCREDIBLE FIGHT SCENES AND LOTS OF BLOOD AND GORE, AND OMG EPIC ROMANCES - EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE DOOMED TO FAIL MISERABLY AND WITH MANY TEARS OF ANGSTY PAIN.)
but yeah. Agron. And Nasir. omg the cutest!! I seriously want to keep them safe and happy and protected FOREVER because THEY ARE THE CUTEST, OMG.

OMG. Glaber. And Illithya. and holy SHIT, you guys. I thought they were SO IN LOVE. and maybe they were. and then she got... i have no idea. greedy? and she said the most HORRIBLE THINGS to him. so... i mean, i don't want to say that it serves her right that he kind of bashed her dad's brains in before her dad could cancel their marriage so she could marry someone 'worthy of her' or whatever, but... she did say some pretty horrible things to him. So i can see WHY he bashed his father-in-laws brains in. because I think he truly loved her, until she broke his heart, and then he just wanted to punish her.
Those Romans, man. When they got mad, they did not hesitate to kill you.
Then again, their favourite sport was watching two guys (or more) trying to kill each other. so. yeah.
AND OMG OMG OMG. Oenomaus! Gannicus! OMG!!! Seriously, I LOVE Oenomaus! He is THE most honourable of the bunch! And he basically shunned himself to the Pits! Where he thought he belonged. But holy crap Batman, if stupid Batiatus has given him the Ludus before all the shiz hit the fan, it would have been the BEST LUDUS IN ALL THE REPUBLIC. no word of a lie. (i mean seriously. Have you seen that man crack a whip? Its a thing of elegant beauty. He's got mad skillz, yo). But yeah. I mean, i LOVE Oenomaus. He was RESPECTED. He was a guy you wanted on your side. and hmfg, Gannicus. I mean... just... asldfjkasldkfj;alsdjkf LIKE, THEY WERE BROTHERS ONCE (LIKE SPARTY AND VARRO - OMG VARRO!!!) BUT GANNICUS HAD THE HOTS FOR OENOMAUS' WIFE, AND SHE KINDA LIKED HIM BACK, BUT SHE LOVED HER HUSBAND, BUT SHE AND GANNICUS KIND OF HAD TO SLEEP TOGETHER (AND THEY BOTH TOTALLY ENJOYED IT, OMG) AND THEN THE WINE WAS POISONED AND SHE DIED AND GANNICUS COULDN'T TAKE IT, AND HE WON HIS FREEDOM BUT OMG HE LOVED OENOMAUS TOO, AND HE FELT SO SHITTY THAT HE WAS IN LOVE WITH HIS BEST FRIENDS WIFE, AND AND AND, OMG GANNICUS. he was pretty awesome. I mean, he was another guy that was kind of an asshole, but still pretty awesome in his own right. And seriously, he loves Oenomaus like a brother, that won't ever change. Even if Oenomaus is totally mad at him forever now. I think they'll both get over it. (and then ONE OF THEM WILL DIE, LIKE, RIGHT AFTER THEY'VE FORGIVEN EACH OTHER, CUZ THIS SHOW LIKES TO RIP OUT YOUR BEATING HEART FROM YOUR CHEST AND MAKE YOU WATCH AS THEY CRUSH YOUR SPIRIT INTO NOTHING.)
But yes. Spartacus: Vengeance. Its pretty good. I am enjoying it so far.
Alsooooooo... we're watching Eureka. Cuz its kind of tied in with Warehouse 13. So i think we have 1 ep left of S1. So we'll probs finish that tonight, and start on S2.
But yes, Its lighthearted, or, more lighthearted than stupid Spartacus (which likes to RIP OUT YOUR HEART AND SOUL, RUN IT OVER A FEW TIMES, AND THEN STOMP ON IT WITH THE HEELS OF ITS BOOTS, JUST TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE GOOD AND BROKEN WITH NO CHANCE OF RECOVERY.)
but yes. my tv viewing is quite enjoyable

The new guy is okay, but I feel like I’m watching a different show almost, that sense of continuity and attachment to a particular character is a little gone. I’m also massively distracted by new!Naevia, the old actress was… different. Prettier, not that it really matters, but I dunno, I miss the old Naevia too.
Crixus continues to be awesome, as does Agron, yessss. I continue to HATE ASHER with the loathing of a THOUSAND SUNS, who the HELL does he think he is taking advantage of Lucretia?! Mira is pretty neat, I don’t really like her as a love interest but boy can she is quite handy with a dagger and bow now, I like it when she kicks Roman ass. I’m kind of bothered by Gannicus because such an apathetic killjoy, I wish he would be more rebellious and idealistic like Spartacus. And Oenomaus continues to be my favourite, except I am SO SAD that his heart is broken now that he knows what his wife did with Gannicus. Ilythia is totally reaping what she sowed now, karmic retribution. She hated her husband and wanted a better one, and now the tables have turned.
Anyway, yes. Good times. :D

and YES. I miss Andy and Old!Naevia.
and I just find that new!Spartacus has changed so drastically from old!Spartacus. I mean, i get that he's changed anyway, but... I dunno. He sorta feels like a different character. They BOTH do. They're just so different from the originals its hard to think that these people are playing the same characters.
OMG AGRON. he's totally my new fave. I adore him to BITS FOREVER. HE'S THE CUTEST AND I WANT HIM TO LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE. and i want him to be HAPPY FOREVER WITH HIS LITTLE BOYFRIEND. BECAUSE THEY BRING JOY TO MY HEART AND THEY'RE THE ONLY TRULY GOOD THING ON THAT SHOW RIGHT NOW AND I DON'T WANT IT TO DISAPPEAR. so. i hope that happens.
And I still totally totally love Crixus. he's still frickin awesome. (and omg i love that he and Sparty call each other 'Brother'. it makes me gleeful and happy!!) OMG ASHUR. I DIDN'T MENTION HIM BECAUSE HE'S NOT WORTH THE TIME TO SPARE WORDS. HE'S AN AWFUL, CONNIVING LITTLE SOB WHO IS TOTALLY GOING TO GET HIS IN THE END. but he keeps WINNING. which sucks, but the payback will be delicious. thats what i keep telling myself. He's going to get his. and it will be glorious. Both Crixus AND Oenomaus have debts to be paid.
OMG. When Ashur and Lucretia first teamed up, i was terrified for Capua. They're both SO DEVIOUS and CUNNING and just... holy shit. Like, EVERYTHING would be a lie between them AND around them. So i thought it was going to be terrifyingly awesome. But now its just terrifying. because of effing Ashur. he violated his (ex)Domina - but still. He's just a creepy little bastard and i'm going to LAUGH when he eventually dies. (wow, that sounded really dark, but that doesn't make it any less true)
Mira!!! I think she totally kicks ass. I love that she's so badass. BUT YES. I AM IN TOTAL AGREEMENT WITH YOU. i'm meh about her being a love interest. even though - before i had written up this whole thing about how i didn't buy Spartacus being loving towards her, but I wasn't paying complete attention when they were on screen together. So after rewatching bits of each ep, I can see that he does care for her. But... I think it pales to what he felt for Sura. I don't think ANYONE could ever replace Sura. She was his reason for EVERYTHING. I don't think Mira could fill her shoes quite so quickly. But i DO think Mira's a total badass.
I hope that Gannicus will eventually be on their side. I get how he doesn't REALLY care about their cause, since he's already free, but... I think he'll come around. I'm really really hoping he and Oenomaus make up. Because i DO love Oenomaus, and I want him to be happy again, and I want him to have his beffie back. I want them to be bros again. Even with the whole 'i kinda had sex with your wife and oh, btw, i was totally in love with her too' thing in the way. But Oenomaus and Crixus have always been faves of mine. So i want them to be happy. they DESERVE it.
dude. Illithya. I just... I don't know if I should feel bad for her or not. Because, hello, she did kill that other chick in a passionate rage - Licinia (i love imdb). And then she went all crazy and turned on Lucretia and Quintas - for good reason since they were just using her - but then she was the one that essentially killed Varro.
Ok, decision made, bitch totally got what she deserved. No, she deserves worse.
