Ok so...

Last wednesday I didn't have sushi, I went out on a date instead! With the guy my sister's bff wanted to set me up with before.

He was really sweet when I first met him, and very courteous - he opened the car door for me. We went to the blendz by my place, got a drink, and i pulled out the crazy a bit, and asked him who his favourite superhero was.

He said Batman, and I was relieved - if it had been anyone BUT batman, there might have been problems between us.

ANYWAY, he didn't seem to mind my completely random question, and after we got our drinks, he took me to Spanish Banks (near UBC) to watch the fireworks. We caught the last.. 5 or 10 minutes of them, but it was nice, and we got to chat a little. Then we waited for the traffic to lessen a bit, so we joked around and chatted some more. He's really nice and sweet and down to earth - quite the gentleman! He wants to be a cop eventually, and he's working 2 jobs and going to school at the moment. Loss & Prevention. Like Security.

Oh! lol, i don't think i mentioned... ok, so i called him... last monday (my dad bailed on us. he had to work or something lame like that), and left him a message, so he called me back a bit later, and this was the VERY FIRST TIME i talked to him, ever. so we were both kinda 'oh, are you still interested in doing something?' and i said 'as long as you don't plan on serial killing me, i think we're good' or something along those lines.

AS SOON AS THOSE WORDS WERE OUT OF MY MOUTH I WAS ALL 'OH SHIT! HE DOESN'T KNOW ME! THATS A WEIRD THING TO SAY TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW!!!!' in my head.

but it was ok! he laughed and said no, that wasn't part of the plan, or something. so i was very relieved.

so as we were driving to Spanish Banks, the road was kind of dark and twisty, and he looked over to me and assured me he wasn't taking me out somewhere deserted to kill me. which i thought was very nice.

anyway, he drove me home and walked me to my door, and we hugged goodbye. I thought that was nice, since this was our first time meeting each other. but he was all, oh, give me a call if you want to do something next week.

I didn't really appreciate that. i didn't want the ball in my court, i wanted him to be the one to call ME, but whatever. i wanted to see him again - he's new and interesting!!

So last night I saw R again. We had dinner at this place called the Eatery, which is a sushi place. OMFG. i'd been there once for a friends bday part, but i dunno, i guess i was so engrossed in the company cuz there were quite a few ppl and everything, but THIS PLACE IS SOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!! ok, so as he was driving me home last week, we went by a sushi place, and i was all, oh, hey, do you like sushi? and he was all yeah i do! so i was all gleeful inside, because sushi is awesome, and he was all, oh, there's this neat place i could take you to, its called the eatery. so thats where we went last night. and all week ppl have been telling me great things about it. Sonia my boss told me that i should basically live there, its all crazy and awesome.  and omg she was soooooooooo right. it IS awesome. tho, there was a big fake squid in the corner of the room, which i didn't like, because i hate squid. I HATE THEM!!!

anyway, he ordered us miso soup and this appy called the Fat Elvis - avocado tempura. OH SWEET BABY JESUS IT WAS SOOOOOOOOO GOOD. He was all, its worth the heart-attack you'll have later. hee. and then we got two rolls each and shared. everything we had was really yummy. he got one with a deep fried banana on top, and i was a  little apprehensive at first, but it was actually quite good. still, dinner was nice and he's still interesting so i like talking to him and everything. Then after, we went to his place and watched the first episode of Spartacus.

and i seriously love that show already. its so awesome, with the hot men (and hot women), the all the blood, and violence. R summed it up pretty good. Violence, profanity, sex. the basis of a lot of HBO (or HBO type) Shows. Women won't mind watching the show even if they're opposed to violence and gore, because the men are always half-naked (or all naked) and gorgeous. But i like the violence anyway, so its all good for me.

but yes. Spartacus? totally amazing and i'm going to be watching more of it.

anyway. he drove me home after watching the first ep (he was really tired, he had to work and go to school, and it think he got home late the night before) and he walked me to my door, and hugged me goodbye, and told me to call him if i wanted to do smth next week.

so i'm excited. he's really interesting. and cute. so hee! i'm kinda... not liking him as much as i could. 1) i don't know him very well 2) i don't want to get my hopes up. i'm kind of taking this one date at a time.

hee!
